Join us for five weeks of hand building ceramics at VIA Studio, where you'll learn the fundamental techniques that have shaped pottery for thousands of years — pinch, coil, and slab — before designing and building a form entirely your own.
What you'll explore:
Pinch — the oldest technique in the book, and the most intimate way to shape clay
Coil — building up, layer by layer, into vessels of any size or shape
Slab — rolling, cutting, and constructing clean-lined, architectural forms
Your own form — bring together everything you've learned to create a piece that's entirely yours
Glaze & fire — finish your work with glazing techniques and see it through to a completed, fired piece
Everything included — clay, tools, glazes, and firing. Just bring yourself.
If you do happen to want extra clay, we can provide for an extra fee.
